About Us

Imokilly Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic was first established in 2005 by Colette Garvey and originally situated in The Cottage, Oatencake, Midleton which has since been demolished! As the clinic grew, we moved to the Southdoc building and then in January 2010 to our current location in the Medical Units, Market Green, Midleton. With further expansion, Colette has been joined by Sarah Griffin, Emma Fryday and Abby Hayes (Chartered Physiotherapists); Anne Cronin (Craniosacral Therapist) and Kelma McCarthy (Clinic Manager)

All our Chartered Physiotherapists are members of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and as a clinic, we are committed to promoting the highest standards of physiotherapy care.

We are proud of our reputation and are acutely aware of the importance of patient satisfaction and feedback. We consequently aim to provide a uniform approach by all our Physiotherapists, so that our patients can be assured that the same high standards are promoted throughout the clinic. Whilst we endeavour to book your appointment with your chosen therapist, if their availability is not compatible with yours, we will ensure that there is a treatment handover between clinicians.

In addition to all our Chartered Physiotherapists being extremely committed to formal Continuing Professional Development, we use our in-house training sessions to problem solve our more complex cases, hence combining our knowledge and experience for everyone’s benefit!

Client Testimonials

Having been dogged with injury I decided to have a full prehab/FMS screen with Colette at Imokilly Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic. My starting score was 12/21 which placed me in a high risk injury bracket but by doing my corrective exercises, I not only played through the whole season un-injured but I also got my score up to 17/21 by the end.

I had spent a significant amount of money elsewhere on unwearable orthotics, before coming to Imokilly Physiotherapy Clinic. The orthotics I got here are by far the most comfortable to wear, and I wouldn't put a pair of shoes on without them!

Having had a long long history of back-pain which was then managed surgically with a dynamic fusion I was nervous about commencing any exercise. My neurosurgeon recommended that I attend a physiotherapist-led clinical Pilates class and I was lucky to find Sarah. Her entire approach is aimed at individualised rehabilitation, namely the individual assessment, tailored exercise programmes, small classes and follow-up emails. The standard of Pilates service is far superior to a fitness-based drop in class, and hence ideal for those with injuries.

Chronic Achilles tendinopathy was limiting my ability to progress my marathon training and I knew that I had to tackle it properly to allow it to heal. Although it was frustrating to step back from training, I am now running painfree and hoping for a marathon PB
