What is hamstring tendinopathy?
Hamstring tendinopathy also known as proximal hamstring tendinopathy 50 causes deep buttock pain due to irritation of the hamstring tendons that attach the hamstring muscles 590 in the back of the thigh to the sit bone (ischial tuberosity) located in the buttock at the bottom of the pelvic bone as a result of being put under stresses and tensions beyond the tendon’s limits usually during sprinting, jumping and kicking. Hamstring tendinopathy symptoms are: buttock pain with pain back of thigh which worsens during hill walking, running and after prolonged sitting accompanied with back of leg stiffness. It can also be associated with chronic high (proximal) hamstring tendinopathy.
