Hayes BSc MISCP
Abby graduated from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy. Since qualifying Abby has worked in the hospital setting for over 8 years where she worked in a number of different specialities and gained valuable experience/knowledge in a wide variety of medical/surgical/neurological and respiratory conditions. She then in 2019, decided to transition into private practice doing evenings initially and then at the start of 2020 moved full time in the practice. Abby is a Chartered Physiotherapist who is a member of both the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapy (ISCP) and CORU (Health and Social Care Professional regulatory body).
Abby has always had an interest in Musculoskeletal, sports Injuries, orthopaedics and plastics (which would be specifically for hand physiotherapy).
Since joining Imokilly Physio Midleton, Abby has treated many players/athletes of all levels. This has led her to gaining much experience in this area. As well as this, Abby currently plays international, national and provincial tennis so knows how important it is to return back to sport and the sport specific rehab that is necessary.
She recently completed a BAHT (British Association of Hand Physiotherapy) level 2 course on the PIPJ. Abby continues to develop her knowledge and skills set by attending courses, conferences and webinars regularly.
