Since graduating from Robert Gordon University with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy, Sarah has worked in a variety of clinical settings across the globe. She is a Chartered Physiotherapist registered to practice in Ireland, the UK, New Zealand and Australia. Having worked in a busy hospital setting for 2 years, Sarah has since worked extensively in musculoskeletal private practice. In 2008, Sarah relocated to New Zealand where she worked in a Sports Injury Clinic in Wellington for over 4 years. On her return to Ireland in 2012 Sarah completed a Masters in Advanced Healthcare practice in the University of Limerick, whereby she specialized in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Chronic Pain.
In 2013, Sarah started working at Imokilly Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic. Since then she has developed a very successful Clinical Pilates Program which has become an integral part of her approach to patient centred rehabilitation. Sarah teaches mat Pilates classes, individual Pilates sessions and reformer Pilates.
In recent years Imokilly Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic has become affiliated with UCC as a centre of excellence and education. As an affiliated clinical educator Sarah is passionate about educating the physiotherapists of our future.
As an extensively experienced clinician Sarah has a special interest in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Sports Medicine and Joint Hypermobility. She has an active interest in Clinical Pilates and Sports Specific Exercise Prescription and Rehabilitation. Sarah has always placed a significant emphasis on her own professional development highlighted by her most recent courses in Neck Pain, Updates in Physiotherapy led Pilates, Yoga and Sports Medicine.
In New Zealand, Sarah worked with a professional basketball team, Olympic level athletes as well as local soccer and rugby teams. Her current physiotherapy responsibilities are Midleton Rugby Club and several elite athletes.
Sarah is committed to continual professional development and throughout her time in New Zealand she completed many courses in Clinical Pilates, dry needling and spinal mobilisation. In recent years Sarah has developed her practice further by introducing yoga into her practice.
Her personal interests include running, Pilates, Yoga, sea swimming and travelling.
